A new Guinness World Record has been set for the "Farthest Reverse Ramp Jump by a Car" and the surprising thing is that it was not set by a professional racer or even a stunt person.

The person who currently holds the new title for the longest reverse car jump is Rob Dyrdek, a professional skateboarder from America and a TV personality.
The story continues in the next section. Click through the slides for more:
First and foremost, Rob Dyrdek jumped a distance of 89 feet, 3¼ inches and for the record to be successful he had drive away from the stunt, which he did.
The car used for the record was a Chevrolet Sonic hatchback. An unlikely car, but anything becomes possible when enough modifications. We presume, roll cage, safety harness, sports seats, weight reduction, beefier suspensions were few of the changes that were done to the Chevy Sonic.
Turns out Rob Dyrdek is quite proficient in performing stunts like these. In 2011 he became the first guy to do a 360-degree kick-flip off a ramp, also in a Sonic.
So why was a Chevrolet Sonic chosen to perform the jump? "The Sonic is a great car for firsts," said Dyrdek. "I have always been a Chevy guy, so when we decided we wanted to set a Guinness World Record for the finale of "Fantasy Factory," using the Sonic again just made sense."
Fantasy Factory is the name of a reality series run by Rob Dyrdek. The record breaking jump will be aired during the season finale of the show on March 13. But you can have a look at the jump right here.
