Joy-Riding Tuner Crashes Customer's Porsche 911 GT3 RS — Worst Customer Service Ever?
A Porsche 911 GT3 RS has been crashed by a performance tuning company owner while he was out on a joyride.
Has anyone dropped off an exclusive sports car at a garage for tuning, and later received a call saying the car has been smashed? Well, that's what happened to one unfortunate customer who owns a Porsche 911 GT3 RS, when he got a call saying the front end is smashed.
The story goes as a Porsche owner left his 911 GT3 RS at the Bob Hindson Racing shop in Kansas City, Missouri, when he wanted a new header installed, along with a good tune up. The shop owner ended up smashing the front end of the car when he took it out on a joy ride.
As per reports, Aaron Holstrom, Bob Hindson Racing shop's owner, was driving the car with a passenger when he lost control of the GT3 RS and spun the car amidst traffic. The car then jumped a kerb and hit a plumbing supply business nose first.
Reports also say that Holstrom could have switched off the traction control, pointing to the skid marks leading to the building the car crashed into. The incident points out to the possibility of a passenger in the car during the incident, since the passenger side airbag was also deployed.
Holstrom took responsibility for the accident, and when he called the owner to inform him about the mishap, the owner laughed it off thinking it was a prank, but it wasn't unfortunately.
The initial damage estimate is around $175,000 but could cost more as the Porsche 911 GT3 RS was highly customised by the owner.
The incident above is an unfortunate one, although the car is a highly desirable one. But if Ferraris are what interest you more than Porsches, then check out the images of the F12tdf in the gallery below.
