Ola Is Facing Major Glitches With Its Billing — Hands Over A "Shocking" Bill To Customer
Online taxi aggregators like Ola and Uber have been in the news for a long time, mostly for their positives and a few negatives that made up for their positives. Now, Ola is back in the news, for handing over a bomb of a bill to a customer.
Kamal Bhatia, a Businessman hired a Ola cab to go to Pune from Mumbai and back. Once the trip was over, he was thanked by a very surprising bill of Rs. 83,395, enough to probably travel by a private jet. To make things worse, the Ola app showed that Kamal had just finished travelling 7,000km in 14 hours — that is travelling an average of 500km per hour!
The bill was obviously a mistake (unless Kamal took a Ola Jet, which he did not) and the issue was soon rectified, after a heated 30 minute argument over the phone with Ola Support Staff. Finally, Kamal ended up paying Rs. 4,088, for 347km travelled.
Like they say, the day is not done until the sun goes down — Ola called Kamal the same evening and enquired if Kamal had spoken to anybody regarding the 'Small' technical glitch. Ola support also apologised to him, and waved off the entire fare — now, that's fair!
