NHTSA Releases Grisly Video To Warn Against Texting & Driving
Our Facebook video of the day is a public service announcement (PSA). This one was recently released by the United States National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) as part of an awareness campaign on National Distracted Driving Awareness Month.
The video shows a group of youngsters travelling by car on a regular day, when the driver starts texting, diverting her attention away from driving for just a few seconds.
We don't need to tell you what happens next because everyone of us is aware of the fact that distraction of any sort while driving - which includes using the phone - could potentially prove disastrous.
Nevertheless, many of us continue to do it. Then perhaps, watching this graphic video will drive home the point.
This video, along with other related PSAs will be aired in the U.S by the Department of Transportation (DOT) this month, accompanied with a powerful slogan, "U Drive. U Text. U Pay"
There is no such thing as a multitasking mind. You can only do one thing at a time. So remember, "if you are texting, you're not driving," another one of DOT's messages.
