Owning a Rolls Royce for most is a distant possibility. Sometimes getting to see one in flesh is even tougher. British icon is an exclusive car for an exclusive audience. In earlier times the Rolls Royce would be reserved only for kings and high dignitaries.

There other car manufacturers that offer most of the features in a Rolls Royce for a fraction of the cost. Finding a top of the range Mercedes-Benz E-class is no big affair and can be bought for a good deal.
We have found a Kazakhstan mechanic, Ruslan Mukanov, who has tuned a Mercedes 190 E into a Rolls Royce. He explains all in all the entire project costed him INR 1,81,320 which is decent. In India it would not be possible to get a brand new car for that amount at all.

Ruslan Mukanov of Kazakhstan has created a Rolls Royce from a Mercedes-Benz. However, he has come very close to the British icon and has been able to do so being on a tight budget.

From a distance it is very hard to tell its not the real deal. Anybody can be fooled to believe its a Rolls Royce and not a Mercedes-Benz. The mechanic from Kazakhstan has replicated almost each and every detail of the British Icon.

The made-in-Kazakhstan Rolls Royce does not have the huge engine that it generally comes with. It has a frugal and reliable German engine by Mercedes-Benz.

Ruslan Mukanov knows his prized possession is not a real Rolls Royce, however, he does treat her like one. There is no harm in doing that, perhaps all of us should learn how to take care of our vehicles better.

The Mercedes-Benz has gone through a complete conversion and has traditional door opening style of Rolls Royce. The cabin space is not as great as the British car, however, it resembles the real deal as much as it could.

The steering wheel is from FK sports and is a custom made wooden accessory. The dashboard is a tad unsavoury and is a bit of a let down. We admire his work and are sure he will get better with his future builds. We believe the budget did not permit him to splurge on the dashboard.

This is one thing that we never wish to see on a Rolls Royce, not even on a replica. In our understanding this is a major giveaway that it could not be the real deal. No Rolls Royce will ever come with such tacky looking alloy wheels. A more traditional set of wheels would definitely improve the stance of the vehicle.

The Rolls Royce logo is called the 'Spirit of Ecstasy', however, Ruslan Mukanov of Kazakhstan has used a Soviet-era Eagle Sculpture. This is a personal choice and we presume getting the real logo of Rolls Royce would be difficult and expensive too.

The Mercedes-Benz turned into a Rolls Royce has been asked by many of Ruslan's family and friends for occasions. Others don't mind even renting the vehicle for their special days. The project has turned Ruslan Mukanov into a local celebrity.
