3100hp Marauder GT R Is A Speedy Sea Demon Inspired By AMG's Beast Of The Green Hell
The 1300hp Marauder GT R boat revealed by Mercedes and the Cigarette Racing at the Miami Boat Show is inspired by 'The Beast of the Green Hell', the Hulk Green AMG GT R.
3,100hp (3,058bhp), that's the power available on the latest loony AMG. Unfortunately, for us mere mortals, the one-off Marauder GT R isn't something we'll ever see on the road, as the speed demon is meant to scythe through the seas.
The Marauder GT R is the latest creation from the 10-year collaboration between Mercedes and the Cigarette Racing Team and debuted at the Miami Boat Show last week.
Based on the Cigarette Racing Team Marauder SS, the Marauder GT R is inspired by the AMG GT R, the fastest rear-wheel-drive car to ever lap the Nurburgring.
Like its road-going cousin, the Marauder GT R sports oodles of carbon-fibre. The lightweight carbon weave stretches across the dashboard and the instrument cluster along with the covers for the two massive V8 engines powering the Marauder. The boat also boasts of numerous CNC'd aluminium parts.
Speaking of the monsters powering the Marauder, the dual-overhead camshaft twin staggered 9.0-litre V8s are not from AMG but are the latest QC4v Mercury Racing engines. The massive V8s crank out 1350hp (1,331.5bhp) each while interacting with regular 91-octane petrol.
However, if you switch to 98-octane petrol (race fuel), the power output from each engine climbs up to 1,550hp (1,528.7bhp) which adds up to a heady 3,100hp (3,058bhp).
The paint scheme and the interior of the 50-foot Maruader GT R though are pure AMG. Daimler's Chief Design Officer designed the graphics for the Marauder, which sports the Green Hell Magno colour from the GT R. The AMG Performance Studio upholstered the seats for the massive speed boat.
Cigarette Racing Team has not revealed the price of the Marauder GT R instead stating "The price of this one-of-a-kind boat from the Cigarette Racing Team is available upon request."
