Koenigsegg One:1 Sets Lap Record At Spa

The Swedish car brand Koenigsegg is on a spree of setting and breaking records with the One:1 supercar. The latest is the record the car set at Spa for a production car.

The Koenigsegg One:1 lapped the famous Belgian track, Spa in 2:32.14. That is almost six seconds faster than the McLaren P1 and almost eight seconds quicker than the Porsche 918 Spyder.

The One:1 even broke its own record of lapping the same circuit from a month ago, which it did in 2:33.26.

What makes it even more interesting is that the record was set during a track day, which meant Robert Serwanski, Koenigsegg test driver had to deal with ‘traffic' on the track!

To top things off, the Swedish brand was not satisfied with the timing and wanted to have another go the next day on an empty track, but decibel restrictions meant the car could not do another attempt because it was too loud.

But that did not shun the carmaker away, since Koenigsegg says it will return another day with a ‘softer' exhaust and will have a go at it.

The One:1 is setting records after records thanks to a twin-turbocharged V8 that produces 1341 hp and 1371 Nm of torque, that is in a car that weighs 1341 kgs. This gives the One:1 a power to weight ratio of 1 horsepower per kg.
