Is This Jensen Button's New Job? Former F1 Test Drives World's Largest Passenger Aircraft
Former F1 driver Jensen Button isn't someone who is exactly desperate for a job but it would seem that he does have the qualities need to fly the world's largest passenger jet.
Former Formula 1 world champion Jensen Button hung up his racing gloves at the end of the 2016 F1 season calling time on a 16-year long career spent at the pinnacle of open-wheeled motorsport.
Button does seem to be enjoying his retirement, however, that hasn't stopped him from exploring any new job opportunities put in front of him, especially if it involves driving. His latest call-up saw him test-driving a vehicle capable of going over thrice as fast as his racing car despite weighing quite a few tons extra — the Airbus A380, the world's largest passenger airliner.
Button took the Airbus for a spin at the British Airways (BA) simulator facility and he even managed to impress those watching and landed the massive jumbo a few times as well, though they seemed quite bumpy.
So the next time your British Airways flight manages to land early, do make it a point to keep an ear out for the captain's voice, you may just find Captain Dr. Jensen Button with his pilot's cap on.
Jensen Button may need more practice landing an Airbus A380, but his daily driver, a Mclaren 675LT Spider is something that shows you how good he is behind the wheel.
