Indonesian Police Joins The Fast And The Furious Club
It was the Germans who kick started the trend of driving exotic cars with police colours. This was followed by a number of countries and now, the Indonesian police force gets two Lamborghini's.
They received two cars, one Lamborghini Gallardo and one Aventador to be exact. Both were dressed up in traditional Indonesian police colours, one in white and other in matte grey.
The Aventador has a V12 engine, producing 700 horsepower, while the Gallardo is powered by a V10 engine which develops 575 horsepower.
These performance cars with big engines can achieve high speeds in a matter of seconds and can catch a crook in minutes if he is speeding or trying to get away. But these cars are too fancy and expensive to chase down thieves. Rather, they are parked in a mall and showcased to the public and tourists.

As a trendsetter of police supercars, Germany first bought Porsche 911s. Soon, many countries followed this trend, mainly to attract tourists and flaunt it to the public. None of them were actually used for official police work.
Dubai soon joined the supercar trend by buying super exotic cars. Their fleet even includes a Bugatti Veyron SS and the city currently leads the world with the largest fleet of police supercars. The UAE took it another step further when they recently bought two Mustangs, to start off a fleet of supercars for the ambulance service.
