Indian Railways has launched the semi-luxury train called the Tiger Express to bring excitement to the wildlife enthusiasts. The train will traverse through Madhya Pradesh's Bandhavgarh and Kanha National Parks, which are known Tiger habitats.

The Tiger Express was launched on 'World Environment Day' on June 5, 2016, Railway Minister, Suresh Prabhu flagged off the train. The reason behind the launch of the express on an important date is to bring the attention and awareness of the endangered species.

The train will start from Delhi and will start regular journeys from October onwards, wildlife parks are closed from June 15, 2016, onwards and hence the break till October mainly due to monsoon season.
