Hyperloop One Enters India — HyperSpeed Tube Travel Still A While Away
Hyperloop One has entered India and it has some amazing plans for the country. But the technology is still a concept.
Hyperloop One, a company building the next-generation travel infrastructure, is now here in India. The company organised a media event in Delhi to announce that it was actively looking to develop five high-speed corridors in India, linking the major cities.
Although the whole idea is still a concept, Hyperloop One stated that with help from Indian government it could make the super high-speed travel in India a possibility in the coming years.
Indian Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu attended the event and said, "We are watching all of these (new technologies) very keenly and we are working to modernise the Indian railways."
Hyperloop is a concept which comprises of special pods with passengers moving at a very high-speed inside the sealed tube-like tunnel. The pods move with the help of an electric motor, and due to sealed tube, the resistance will be very less.
Hyperloop stated, "While other startups have not yet moved beyond basic research, Hyperloop One is the only company that is building a functional Hyperloop system (part of a pilot project in the US)."
CEO of Hyperloop One, Rob Lloyd said, "Hyperloop One will help accelerate India's growth towards building substantial infrastructure that is financially and environmentally sustainable."

Sounds fantastic right? But wait, the Hyperloop is still a concept. The company is yet to showcase the viability of the technology and as well as the financial estimate.
Another hurdle for the company to implement the Hyperloop in India is the permission from Government. And the company has to enter into a partnership with the public sector. For now, the project is just a concept and if you want to travel fast airplane is your best bet.
