Hennesey Venom GT Spyder Claims Top Speed Record
The Hennesey Venom GT Spyder has emulated its hard top sibling and has claimed the record for the world's fastest convertible.
The Venom GT Spyder hit 427.44km/h on a run down the 2.9-mile runway at Naval Air Station Lemoore in California.
We do have to remember that the Venom GT Spyder did not do the run in both directions which is what is required by the people from the Guinness World Records. The record was instead verified by the engineers from Racelogic.
The Venom GT uses a 7-litre twin-turbocharged V8 that produces 1244bhp and 1,566Nm of torque. The Venom GT can hit 100km/h in just 2.6 seconds and hold the Guinness World Record for the fastest acceleration from 0-300km/h which it achieved in a mind boggling 13.63 seconds.
We await Bugatti's reply.
