GM India Employees At Talegaon Facility Take Part In Cleanliness Drive
General Motors has been in the automobile industry in India since 1928. Over the years they have provided several vehicles in the nation. Currently they assemble Chevrolet vehicles in India and have a strong portfolio on offer.
General Motors India has their facility setup in Talegaon, Pune, Maharashtra. They have several employees doing duty at their facility. In India every manufacturer has to take part is a Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR) initiative.
Employees of General Motors India organised a Cleanliness Drive. This is part of Prime Minister of India's vision for a cleaner nation, 'Swach Bharat Abhiyaan'. The launched this initiative on National Cleanliness Day, which was celebrated on 30th of January, 2015.
As responsible corporate citizens, the employees of General Motors India cleaned the entire premises of a Primary School called Navlakh Umbre. They cleaned the premises and cleared approximately 65 kilograms of waste. The employees also installed dustbins at various locations within the school.
General Motors India employees also put up posters and banners in the school. They also showcased several ways of cleaning and the importance of cleanliness to the student of the Primary School. The world would be a better place if everyone could not litter in public and clean up after themselves.
Several other manufacturers in India also undertake Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives. General Motors has focused on improving cleanliness by teaching it at the grass roots level to school children.
