What happens when you find the normal flyboard (the one you strap to your legs and a big hose and then go crazy with on the beach) to be a bit boring?
If you happen to be the guy who invented the thing, you find a way to have fun without the giant hose.
That's exactly what Franky Zapata did when he made the Flyboard Air, a jet powered hoverboard that flies.
Zapata then took it one step further as he broke the previous record for the farthest hoverboard flight by a rather handsome margin.
Previous record - 275.9 meters. New Record - 2,252.4 meters.
Zapata now plans to make the device smaller, so that people can sit on it and ride it.
I really do wonder if I can book one now.
