Floyd Mayweather Has Booked A Bugatti Chiron; But Why?

Floyd Mayweather, the retired professional Boxer has shelled out some cash to buy a shiny Bugatti Chiron. Dubbed the fastest car, the Chiron made its world debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.

The Bugatti Chiron boasts a 8-litre W16 engine that makes 1500 horsepower, thanks to four turbochargers. Sounds fancy, but here is a look at other fancy wheels owned by the retired boxer.

Let's take a closer look at what makes the Chiron special. The Chiron can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in under 2.5 seconds and the company claims that the car can reach a top speed eletronically restricted to 420km/h.

The impressive W-16 engine is mated to a dual clutch gearbox and power is sent to all four wheels. The Chiron also features five driving modes and Bugatti has made extensive use of carbon-fibre.

Ferrari 599

Mayweather owns not one, but two Ferrari 599s, one in black and one in white. The 599 produces a healthy 612bhp with the 6.0-litre V12 engine.

Bugatti Veyron

Owning one is fancy enough, but the boxing champ owns more than one. The latest he had bought was the Grand Sport Vitesse, which had set him back by USD 3.5 million.

Bentley

No matter what car you own, the luxury car line up will never be complete without a Bentley. In Mayweather's case, he happens to own two — the Mulsanne and the Phantom. Both the cars are the top most choices when it comes to luxury.

Bentley Again

If black Bentleys are not getting him noticed enough, there are white ones too. The Mulsanne has a 6.7-litre twin turbocharged V8 that produces 505bhp and 1020Nm of torque. Customers get to chose from 114 paint colours, 21 carpet colours, nine wood veneers, and 24 interior leather hides.

5. Mercedes G Wagon

So if in the mood for some off-road fun, the two Mercedes G Wagons will sort the day. The G Wagon or the G-Class has been in production since 1979 and is powered by a 5.5-litre V8 that produces 383bhp. There are even AMG tuned version of the G-Class.

Ferrari F430

If Mayweather is bored driving the Ferrari 599s, there is an F430 on standby. The F430 is powered by a 4.3-litre V8 that makes 483bhp. The car featured a top speed of 315km/h and could accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 3.7 seconds.

Mercedes-Benz SLS

If the retired champ is not in the Ferrari mood, the Mercedes SLS is a good alternate. The SLS AMG features a 6.3-litre V8 that churned out 563bhp and what made it really special was the 'gullwing' doors. Also, this was the first Mercedes to be made in-house by AMG.

Mercedes-Benz SLR

If Mercedes-Benz SLS sounds a bit boring, the Mercedes-Benz SLR is a nice choice. The car was made jointly by Mercedes and McLaren and featured a suprcharged V8 that produced 617bhp and the fastest acceleration recorded was 3.4 seconds for the car to reach 100km/h from a stand still.

Lamborghini

In the mood for Italian but not Ferrari? How does Lamborghini sound? An Aventador to be specific. The Italian exotic packs a naturally aspirated V12 that can reach a top speed of over 300km/h.

Koenigsegg

If all the cars mentioned earlier are making him feel non exclusive, he alwas has the 4.8 Million dollar Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita, which only two have been made, and Mayweather happens to own the second car.

Adding the cherry to his car collection is the Gulfstream V private plane. The plane has been customised to Mayweather's taste and can seat 14 to 19 people.

The private jet hosts a lot of luxury features on the inside. The Gulfstream V can reach a top speed of 966km/h and cruise at a speed of 904km/h.

So how much will all the cars in his garage add up to? An approximate value of USD 22 million. But one can be certain that his collection of cars will be much more since most of the cars that are out of production will fetch more than the original value.
