China Debuts Its Fastest Bullet Train ‘Fuxing’
China has debuted its fastest next-generation bullet train, the Fuxing with a top speed of 400km/h.
China's next-generation bullet train, Fuxing, with a top speed of 400km/h made its debut on the Beijing-Shanghai line.
The CR400AF model bullet train can hit a top speed of 400km/h and can maintain a consistent speed of 350km/h. The new bullet trains or electric multiple units (EMU) took just five hours to reach Shanghai.
The Fuxing bullet train is designed and manufactured in China. The train features a monitoring system to check performance, and it slows down the train in case of emergency.
The bullet train will be monitored by a remote data transmission system and a control centre. General Manager of China Railway Corporation, Lu Dongfu said, "'Fuxing', underpins the unique role that high-speed railway has played in China's economic and social development."
China has the longest railway network in the world with 22,000km by the end of 2016. China accounts for around 60 percent of the world's total railway network.
