Virat Kolhi, the captain of India's test team is known for his love of supercars and has been the owner of Audi's R8 supercar for a while now.
However, one the R8's he once owned is now in the custody of the Thane Police as evidence of one of the biggest call centre scams in India.
The man at the centre of the scam, Sagar Thakkar alias Shaggy bought the car from Kolhi and gifted the car to his girlfriend on her birthday.
Thakkar purchased the car from Kolhi on May 7, 2016 for Rs. 2.5 crore. However, the car is still registered in Kolhi's name as the Thakkar didn't get the ownership papers changed when he purchased the supercar.
Thankfully India's current favourite cricketing son isn't in any trouble because of the car.
Thane police commissioner Param Bir Singh, said, "He (Thakkar) bought the Audi R8 car from Virat Kohli but the cricketer is unaware of Thakkar's activities."
The Audi R8 uses a 5.2-litre V10 engine which in its current form is capable of pushing out 602bhp and and 560Nm of torque.
The power and torque is sent to all four wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
The Audi R8 V10 Plus was launched in India at the 2016 Auto Expo by Virat Kolhi and is priced at Rs. 2.47 crore ex-showroom Delhi.
