Brazilian Man’s Plan To Bury His Bentley Was A Publicity Stunt
A Brazilian businessman caused a stir recently on social networking site Facebook when he posted a photo of himself standing with a shovel, apparently digging a grave to bury his beloved Bentley Continental Flying Spur. The luxury sedan is also seen in the background.
The reason he gave for his seemingly strange idea was so that he could drive the Bentley in his afterlife. A practice that was followed by ancient Egyptian Pharaohs, who believed in having their valuables buried along with them for the same reason.
The post made by the 62 year old Chiquinho Scarpa garnered a huge amount of attention. The general tone of the reactions was mostly negative. A common point of argument made was why not auction the £310,000 luxury car rather than waste it by burying.

Turns out the story about burying the Bentley and the Pharaohs was all a well executed publicity stunt. However, it was aimed towards promoting a noble cause. That of organ donation.
"I have not buried my car, but everyone thought it absurd when I said I'd do it. It is absurd to bury their bodies, which can save many lives. Nothing is more valuable. Be a donor, tell your family". The caption beneath the Facebook image read. The man sure knows how to garner attention.
