BMW Tries To Lure Tesla Model 3 Owners, Fails Badly

BMW's ad war with Audi and Mercedes was the stuff of legends. However, its latest ad campaign in the US, which takes direct aim at American electric carmaker is awkward, to say the least.

Both videos mock the waiting period of the Tesla Model 3 (deliveries expected to start in late 2017), a $35,000 (RS. 23.39 lakhs) electric car with a range of 346 kilometres and ask the over 4,00,000 customers who've applied for a Model 3 to choose the BMW 330e plug-in hybrid instead.

BMW slogan for the whole cringeworthy ad campaign — 'Wait Or Drive'.

What the Teutonic carmaker fails to tell everyone, is that the BMW 330e has an all-electric range of just 22.5 kilometers. BMW also falsely claims that Tesla (referenced to in the ads as 'that electric car company') Model 3 owners will have to wait till 2018 for their car.

Perhaps, this is the first sign that BMW is actually scared out of its technical German mind by the Tesla Model 3, and is trying to hide the fact that BMW owners will have to wait till 2020, for an actual fully electric 3 Series.
