8-Year-Old Kid Learns To Drive On Youtube; Takes Sister To McDonald's For A Burger
An 8-year-old who learnt to drive on Youtube took his four-year-old sister out to McDonald's after the cravings for a good cheeseburger became too much to handle.
An 8-year-old kid, who learnt to drive on Youtube decided to test his newly acquired driving skills by taking his four-year-old sister out for a burger.
The incident took place last Sunday in the town of East Palestine, Ohio. The father of the two siblings who had been working all day had gone to bed early. The duo's mum was with the kids on the couch when she too dozed off.
With both parents asleep and the craving for a cheeseburger becoming a bit too hard to handle, the young boy grabbed the keys to his father's work van and took his sister out for a burger at McDonald's.
Speaking to Fox8 News, East Palestine police officer Jacob Koehler stated that the kid drove for about a mile (1.6-kilometers) to the fast food restaurant.
The underage driver negotiated 4 intersections, drove over railroad tracks and made a few right-hand turns along with one left-hand turn to reach the land of the Golden Arches. Witnesses told the police that the child obeyed all traffic laws (except for the underage driving ones) and drove within the prescribed speed limit on the route.
Once at the McDonald's drive-thru, the boy ordered cheeseburgers for his sister and himself from the fast-food chain's restaurant. The employees handed over the food, thinking that it was some elaborate prank by the parents who they assumed were in the back of the car.
Thankfully, a family friend who happened to be eating at the restaurant notified the children's grandparents. The cops too arrived on the scene, and the boy informed Officer Koehler where exactly he had learnt to drive.
Thankfully, he had eaten his cheeseburger by then and nobody had gotten hurt during his excursion to the Ronald McDonald's eating joint. The case though is still under investigation.
