The Gullwing was arguably the world's first supercar and was created following the success of the 300 SL racing car in the early 1950s. When it was launched the SL boasted of those crazy gullwing doors and the highest top speed of any production car at the time - 260km/h.
The car that goes on sale has the chassis no 198.040.5500272 along with matching engine (198.980.5500314) and body numbers (198.040.5500258). The car has undergone a complete restoration and boasts of a very rare white paintjob.
This particular 300 SL Gullwing one is estimated to sell for up to $1.65 million when it put under the hammer in February 2016 in Paris.
