World's Best Selling Car In 2013 - Maruti Suzuki Alto
Maruti Alto, India's best selling car for the past nine years, finally became the best selling car in the world in 2013. Maruti Alto, which includes the Alto, 800 and K10 nameplates, actually saw a decline in sales in 2013 and has been in a downward trend for the past three years.

However, the Alto's global competitors fared worse in a year which saw car sales go down in almost every country. This helped Maruti Alto's 265,777 unit sales become the best in the world.
Having said that, Maruti Alto has seen better days. 2010 was its best year in which Maruti had sold 311,000 units.
