Ferrari 458 Successor Powered By Turbo Engine Expected In 2015
Ferrari 458 Italia first arrived in 2009 and the most hardcore version of the car, the 458 Speciale only came last year. In comparison, its rival the McLaren 12C made its debut in 2011.
McLaren's answer to the Ferrari 458 Speciale, the 650S, eventually turned out to be the 12C's replacement model. It is then about time that Ferrari came out with an successor to the 458 as well.

Even if news about such a model is almost non-existent, one should not be surprised to learn that Ferrari is already hard at work on a replacement. The only clue we have of the car is an early sighting of a test model.
It will come as no surprise that this particular car will be powered by a turbocharged engine - a new era that was started with the turbo V8 powered 2014 California T. This would mean the 458 will be the last Ferrari to be powered by the naturally aspirated V8 engine.
However, the 458's replacement is expected to get a twin-turbo V6 instead. One reason behind this is to meet the tough European emission and fuel economy standards, and to keep the weight of the car down.
We expect the new car to be a lot more powerful than the hardcore 570 PS power, 540 Nm torque 458 Speciale. This is considering the McLaren 650S has 650 PS power and 678 Nm torque on tap.
Ferrari can be expected to reveal the twin-turbocharged 458 replacement model in 2015.
