Toyota Etios Cross Launch Date Confirmed
Toyota Etios Cross, the rugged crossover version of the regular hatchback, will be launched in India on May 7, 2014. The Etios Cross was showcased at the Auto Expo 2014 where visitors took a liking to the tough looking hatchback, though the Etios Liva is not the most popular car.
Toyota Etios Cross measures 120mm longer, 40mm wider and 45 mm taller than the regular Etios Liva. Apart from the size difference the crossover also wears tough looking plastic cladding all around.

There are the thick black plastic cladding on all sides, with additional silver elements on the sides. Silver coloured skid plates and a front crash guard cover all the added protection.
Other notable exterior features include roof rails, fog lamp mounted indicator lamps, in addition to those on the mirrors, 15 inch diamond cut alloy wheels and roof mounted rear spoiler.
The interior equipment offered with the Etios Cross is the same as the top of the line Etios Liva. Safety aspect is covered by dual air bags, and ABS and EBD.
The ‘Etios Cross' badge can be found both in the interior and rear of the crossover model.
Power will come from the same 79 bhp 1.2-litre and 89 bhp 1.5-litre petrols engines as well as the 68 bhp 1.4 diesel unit
Toyota Etios Cross will be challenged by VW Cross Polo, which comes for an asking price of INR 7.75 lakhs (Ex-showroom)
The Etios Cross on the other hand, is expected to cost about half a lakh rupee more than the regular top end version which would put it at around INR 7.50 lakhs. Toyota Etios Cross can be booked by paying Rs 50,000.
