Top 10 Best Selling Cars In The Indian Market Today
In the present Indian automobile market, there have been many new car launches from various manufacturers in an effort to grab a larger market share. Maruti Suzuki however, has remained dominant again.

There have been many vehicles that were best sellers. Few models like Hyundai Santro, the Verna and even the Maruti Ritz which were among the top 10 best selling cars have been shaken off the list. Now, lets take a look at the country's top selling vehicles this year according to data provided by Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM).

10. Honda Amaze
In the 10th place comes the Japanese car manufacturer Honda, with their Amaze, selling 15,182 units this year during the first quarter compared to 15,853 units sold last year. This drop in sales has dropped the Amaze to 10th place, it was in seventh place last year.
9. Maruti Suzuki Celerio
The Maruti Suzuki Celerio, which was launched earlier this year, is now the ninth best selling model in India with 16,541 units sold in the April-June quarter this year. The car was launched during the Auto Expo.
8. Hyundai Eon
Hyundai takes the eighth spot with their entry level car, the Eon, selling 19,379 units during the first quarter this year. It was in sixth position last year, having sold 24,526 units.
7. Hyundai Xcent
In seventh place, it's Hyundai again with their new compact sedan the Xcent, selling 21,524 units in the first quarter.
6. Honda City
The mid-sized Honda City sedan sold 21,985 units this year, giving it a comfortable sixth spot. This model saw good sales compared to just 6,949 units that were sold last year during this quarter.
5. Hyundai Grand i10
This fiscal quarter, from April to June, Hyundai's Grand i10 is in fifth place selling 26,830 units.
4. Maruti Suzuki Wagon R
The Wagon R has sold 38,156 units this fiscal quarter compared to 35,141 units sold last year, making it the fourth best selling model.
3. Maruti Suzuki Swift
Maruti Suzuki's compact hatchback, the Swift, holds on to the third position. Selling 47,442 units this year, it has actually dropped sales compared to 48,120 units sold last year.
2. Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire
In the second place stands Maruti Suzuki's sedan, the Dzire. 50,951 units were sold this quarter compared to 49,259 units sold last year.
1. Maruti Suzuki Alto
Maruti Suzuki India sold 64,573 units of Alto, compared to 56,335 units sold last year during the same quarter. This makes the Alto the best selling car in India by a huge margin.
