Tata Indica eV2 Replacement Planned For 2015 Launch
Tata Motors has planned a replacement model for the decade old Indica eV2 model. The new car will continue to be based on the X0 platform, but it will be significantly updated. Much like the Bolt is a highly evolved form of the Vista.
The Indica replacement is expected to be a high-volume product that will not just refresh an old product, but will also do its bit in putting Tata's underused manufacturing facilities to better use.

The new ‘X0' based car will thus be manufactured at Tata's Sanand plant in Gujarat, which currently produces the Nano. The facility, which has a capacity to output 20,000 Nano units, only makes 1000-2000 units at present, resulting in losses. By building the new car here, Tata will be able make the the Sanand plant financial viable.
Speaking to FE, a Tata motors executive has informed that production of the new Indica replacement will begin in 2015 and it will priced between INR 3-4 lakh.
India's largest passenger car company in terms of turnover, Tata Motors will also be making other similar changes relating to cars produced in its facilities in a bid to increase profits. For instance, the upcoming Bolt hatchback will not be produced at the Ranjangaon plant, in which Fiat has a 50 percent share.
The Bolt will instead be made in Pune as this will mean Tata will be saved from making a payment to Fiat. However, Tata Zest will be produced in Ranjangaon as planned, along with Fiat's Punto and Linea.
