Skoda Seven Seater SUV For India Being Developed
If a report on Autocar is to be believed, Skoda is working on an all new SUV just for India. We are not talking about the Yeti facelift or even a new compact SUV, but a full size SUV with space for at least seven people.
The new Skoda SUV is expected to measure 4.6 meters in length and would be offered with at least one all-wheel drive equipped variant. Based on parent company Volkswagen's MQB platform, the SUV is rumoured to receive a sloping roofline like the Range Rover Evoque.
It is possible that the Skoda SUV will be based on the Volkswagen CrossBlue concept (seen above) from last year, with a scheduled launch in 2015.
Expect the Skoda SUV to be priced in the INR 25 lakh range and go head-to-head with the likes of Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner and Hyundai santa Fe.
Rumours aside, much closer to the present, Skoda will be launching the facelifted Yeti crossover in India towards the end of the year. The company also has a compact SUV launch planned, which would be based on the VW Taigun and would be a placed below the Yeti.
