Rolls Royce Seriously Considering Building SUVs
Rolls Royce has said it out loud that it is seriously considering building an SUV/crossover model. There is nothing surprising here since only a few days back Bentley revealed its own SUV through a teaser image. Rolls Royce cannot afford to be left too far behind.
Peter Schwarzenbauer, the BMW board member in charge of Rolls-Royce told Top Gear that in the near future half of all cars sold will be SUVs and crossovers, according to independent studies.

Schwarzenbauer said they are "seriously analysing" building an SUV and that the project won't go forward if they are not convinced the product has enough Rolls Royce genes in it.
Despite what they tell we all know that it is only a matter of time before they announce their SUV.
Rolls Royce is correct in believing that SUVs and crossovers will make up a huge chunk of global car sales. The luxury car segment is not exempt from this growing trend either. Hence, the BMW owned luxury car maker can only delay an SUV launch for so long.
Lastly, Schwarzenbauer also more or less confirmed that the Rolls Royce SUV would be a plug-in hybrid. However, chances of it being all-electric are almost nil.
