Renault Duster 4WD India Launch In October
Renault Duster 4WD will be launched in India during October, right during the festive season. Demand for an all-wheel drive variant of the Duster has been high and realising this, Renault has decided to introduce it into the Indian market.
Remember that Renault's manufacturing facility in Chennai already produces right hand drive Duster 4WD for the U.K market with the Dacia badge.

For India, Renault Duster 4WD will be offered with the 110 horsepower diesel engine, which will be coupled to a 6-speed manual transmission. While an automatic variant is not likely to be launched initially, it could arrive at a later point in time.
The 4WD system employed in the Duster will be the same as that of Nissan SUVs such as the X-Trail. Once the Duster 4WD is launched, it is only a matter of time before Nissan brings out the 4WD variant of its Terrano.
The 4WD system in the Duster will offer three driving modes - 2WD, where power is sent to the front wheels for maximum fuel efficiency; auto, where the on-board computer distributes measured amounts of torque to all four wheels as per the demand; lock, which is permanent all-wheel drive, with equal amounts of power going to all four wheels.

Renault Duster 4WD will be powered by the 1.5-litre diesel engine that produces 110 horsepower at 3900 rpm and 248 Nm at 2250 rpm. Expect this variant to offered with equipments and features found in the RxL trim, but we'll not be surprised if we get more.
In terms of looks, the 4WD Duster could get the same exterior as the Adventure Edition, which adds a front bumper protector with integrated lamps and plastic cladding around the body.
