2014 Volkswagen Polo India Launch In July: Rumour
The new VW Polo hatchback is one facelift model that we are eagerly looking forward to. Launched in Europe earlier this year, the 2014 VW Polo is a minor update over the outgoing Polo, but it still makes the car look significantly better and mature.
Beside the new look and new features, what's also exciting is the new engine that will make its way into the Polo lineup. While the in Europe the supermini comes with a whole host of engine options, in India there is expefcted to be only one important change to the premium hatchback.

That would be the introduction of the 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine in place of the existing 1.6-litre unit. The new downsized will deliver the same amount of performance, with its 105 horsepower, 250 Nm torque output and at the same time, it will bring with it tax savings that's applicable to engines sized 1.5-litre and below. This engine will be mated to a DSG automatic transmission.
The 1.2 turbo petrol delivering 105 horsepower through the DSG automatic and the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine delivering 75 horsepower via the 5-speed manual transmission would remain unchanged.
If a new report is to be believed, the new VW Polo will be launched in India as early as July. The new Polo, considered to be the safest car this segment, offers airbags as standard feature in all variants. Expect the 2014 VW Polo to cost slightly more than the outgoing model.
