Maruti Suzuki Swift Facelift Launch In July: Rumour
Maruti Suzuki Swift, one of the more popular models sold by the company, is very close to receiving a facelift, if fresh rumors are to be believed.
Launched in 2005, the Swift received its last facelift in India over two years back and is ready for an update. If true, the facelift is coming at the right time as its chief competitor, Hyundai i10, is also scheduled to be updated later this year.
According to the report, the changes in the 2014 Maruti Swift will only be skin deep and it will remain mechanically unchanged.

Updates are expected to come in the form of Daytime Running Lights that will appear below the fog lamp, exactly like in the i20, electric folding ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, a redesigned centre mounted rear brake light and automatic headlamps.
The interior of the facelifted Swift is said to receive a start/stop button, new Bluetooth equipped audio system and dual-tone upholstery.
The engines will be the same 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol unit developing 87 horsepower at 6200 rpm and 114 Nm torque at 4000 rpm, and the 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder diesel unit that outputs 75 horsepower at 4000 rpm and 190 Nm of torque at 2000 rpm.
While the 5-speed gearbox will be standard, the new Swift could be provided with Automated Manual Transmission from the Celerio.
Apart from the new Swift, Maruti will also be launching the SX-4 replacement sedan, the Ciaz, in time for the festive season.
