India's largest car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki, will launch the New version of the Alto K10 next month. The new version will be equipped with an automated gear shift for its top of the line variant.
Maruti will position the new car as a product for the masses equipped with 'futuristic technology' to satisfy the demanding, value for money conscious customers.
How important is the launch for Maruti?
RS Kalsi, The Executive Director For Maruti Suzuki India (MSI), said, "The Alto K10 is a very important product for us. Customers in this segment are very demanding. They expect a lot of features and are very value-for-money conscious. It has always been a challenge catering to them. So our effort has been to create the excitement with a futuristic offering."
"The convenience factor of the automated gear shift option with high fuel efficiency levels at affordable cost will definitely be attractive to entry level customers," he said.
Maruti Alto at a glance:
The Alto K10 is presently priced between INR 3.15 lakh to 3.31 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The price of the new models will be announced next month during the time of launch.
Launched in 2010, the Alto K10 has sold 4.3 lakh units till now, in four years. The Alto brand as a whole, including the Alto 800, has sold 26 lakh units till date, since its launch, in 14 years.
