Jaguar C-X17 Crossover/Compact SUV launch In 2016
Jaguar C-X17, the concept compact SUV/crossover model is set to make its production debut in 2016. As such, the British automaker has already begun development of the vehicle in earnest.
The C-X17 SUV is built on an all aluminium architecture, the same as the upcoming XE sedan, that is a rear wheel drive chassis. But it remains to be seen whether Jaguar will stick to rear wheel drive or will also introduce an all-wheel drive variant.

Known internally as a sport crossover, the C-X17 SUV will be a direct competitor to Porsche Macan compact SUV. This means the C-X17, like the Macan, will have sports car like performance and dynamics with an SUV like stance.
However, the C-X17 will be larger, with a longer wheelbase & more interior space than the Macan, yet lighter due to its all-aluminium construction.
This also allows Land Rover to continue offering larger, true off-road and luxury SUVs while Jaguar has the more generic, less luxurious, crossover category covered.
Jaguar will power the C-X17 with Land Rover's turbocharged, four cylinder Ingenium range of engines that offer low CO2 emissions with balanced performance.
