Hyundai i30 India Launch During Festive Season To Take On Honda Jazz
Hyundai Motor India Senior Vice-President, Rakesh Srivastava has confirmed that the company will launch a new hatchback placed above the i20.
Speaking to FE, he stated that there was still space for a more premium hatchback to top the i20. It would offer the manoeuvrability sought after by car owners in the city and the space and features of a mid-sized sedan.
He also revealed that the new car would be launched around the time of Diwali. However, he also hinted that it may not be called the i30 at all, stating, the company was working on the nomenclature.

Considering the fact that Hyundai has planned to launch the next-gen i20 in India also around the same time, it could take the path it took in the case of the Grand i10.
That would be, launching the next-gen i20 as a new car or the i30 with a different name, while the existing i20 would continue to exist as a less premium product.
The said premium hatchback from Hyundai would become a direct competitor to the upcoming Honda Jazz, which is also set to launch towards the end of the year.
Both the Jazz and the yet to be named premium Hyundai hatchback would have a starting price below INR 10 lakh.
Hyundai i30, sold in Europe in coupe, four door and station wagon versions, comes with two engine options. The smaller of the two is a 1.4-litre, 100 horsepower, 137 Nm torque petrol engine, capable a top speed of 182 km/h.
Of one thing we can be sure. Hyundai i30, in its current form will not appear in India due to its European styling and would feature subtle exterior design changes such as those that appeared in the Grand i10.
