Hyundai Elite i20 & Harley-Davidson Street 750 Win ICOTY & IMOTY 2015

On 17th of December, 2014 the first auto awards for 2015 commenced. There were several automobiles and two-wheelers that were in the running for top honours. Alas! There can be only one Indian Car of the Year and Indian Motorcycle of the Year for 2015.

The 2015 ICOTY award was the 10th edition and IMOTY celebrated their 8th award distribution ceremony. They announced the winners for 2015 in Mumbai amidst auto journalists and other industrial experts. This year there was tough competition and it sure was not easy for the panel of judges.

It was declared that the 10th ICOTY award would go to Hyundai's Elite i20. The 8th IMOTY award was given to Harley-Davidson's Street 750 cruiser. Presenting the award was Dr. Raghupati Singhania, Chairman and Managing Director, JK Tyre & Industries Limited and Bob Rupani, Chairman ICOTY 2015 and Aspi Bhathena, Chairman, IMOTY 2015.

Aspi Bhatena, Chairman, IMOTY 2015 expressed, "The Indian motorcycle industry has come a long way in the last 8 years since the inception of the first IMOTY awards. Today the IMOTY awards is the most prestigious in the country and all manufacturers in India look forward to them and we would like to congratulate the winner for making an outstanding motorcycle which is not just about performance is about the complete package along with the best value for money as well."

Bob Rupani Founder Jury member ICOTY, and Chairman, ICOTY 2015 said, "I am very happy that the entire Indian automobile industry now recognizes ICOTY as the most credible automobile award in India. It is the one award that every auto manufacturer aspires to win, as it is the ultimate recognition of their product.

The 2014 title of ICOTY was won by Hyundai's Grand i10 and the 2015 ICOTY goes to the same manufacturer's Elite i20. In 2014 IMOTY award was held by Royal Enfield's Continental GT, while in 2015 it was awarded to Harley-Davidson for their Street 750 model.
