Italian-based manufacturer Fiat has launched its much awaited crossover in India. The manufacturer has christened their vehicle as the ‘Avventura'. They have introduced five trim options with the new crossover.

Fiat will be offering its Avventura crossover in both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol-powered vehicle receives a 1.4-litre engine, while the diesel option gets a frugal 1.3-litre Multijet mill.
Fiat's petrol engine is capable of generating 115 Nm of peak torque, along with maximum power of 88.73 bhp. The Multijet diesel mill has been tuned to extract 91.6 bhp of maximum power, along with 209 Nm of peak torque from the engine.

The Italian manufacturer has provided both petrol and diesel engine with a manual 5-speed gearbox. There is no automatic transmission on offer with the Avventura. Fiat claims their Contemporary Urban Vehicle provides fuel efficiency figures of 14.4 kpl with the petrol engine. The diesel mill on the other hand is more frugal and achieves ARAI certified 20.5 kpl fuel efficiency figures.
The Avventura was first showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo in New Delhi as a concept by Fiat. The Italian manufacturer will produce this vehicle at their Ranjangaon facility in Pune. The Avventura is available at a showroom close to you and Fiat claims they have received several inquiries for their Contemporary Urban Vehicle.
The Avventura has been developed in Italy with loads of Indian flavour to it. Fiat will offer its crossover in Bronzo Tan, Exotica Red, Hip-Hop Black, Minimum Grey, Vocal White and Zafferano Orange. The exterior will also sport side body cladding, providing it a beefed up persona.
Fiat will also be providing 16-inch alloy wheels as standard fitment across the platform. The crossover also gets roof rails providing the Avventura with an off-road look. The spare wheel has been mounted to the back of the vehicle and is covered in a nice looking wheel cover.
The interiors of Avventura gets a tilt-meter with an inclinometer to scale inclines. It also gets high terrain gauge, along with a compass, all these fittings will be standard across all trims. The Italian manufacturer will also provide an infotainment similar to that in the Punto Evo.
Seats will be covered in sport tan brown leather, while other parts will be upholstered in their soft touch material. The crossover will also sport rear air-con vents, along with ambient lighting.
The Avventura by Fiat will compete head on with Toyota Etios Cross and Volkswagen Cross Polo. The Italian manufacturer has done extensive research on what the Indian customer wants and needs from a crossover.
