Ferrari LaFerrari XX Confirmed, Expected To Be Ready By Early 2015
"Ferrari LaFerrari XX is already under development", Antonello Coletta, the company's Sporting Activity Department head informed Drive. LaFerrari XX, a track only, more extreme and hardcore version of the production car is expected to be ready by early next year.
Ferrari's famous XX programme consist of highly modified, track focused versions of super cars such as the Enzo and 599 GTO. These are the Enzo FXX, FXX Evolution, 599XX and 599XX Evolution. Ferrari did skip the XX treatment for the F12 Berlinetta, however.

Since this supercar already gets an incredible 950 horsepower and 900 Nm of torque from its V12 engine hybrid engine, Ferrari intends to leave it alone. Instead, it will concentrate on improving the aerodynamics, which will most be about increasing downforce. LaFerrari XX will also be lighter, have new suspension systems, wear slick tyres and will be provided with the latest electronic stability and traction control systems.
Unlike the LaFerrari, which is tuned for the road, the LaFerrari XX will have permanent track settings and will not comply with regular safety laws, thus making it illegal to drive it on public roads.
Cars belonging to Ferrari's XX programme are sold to privileged customers of the Italian automaker only, but they are not allowed to keep it. Instead, Ferrari keeps and maintains the car, only allowing owners to drive it during specially held track days around the world. Information collected from these track days are used to improve Ferrari's technology.
Since only 499 LaFerrari supercars will be made and all of them have been spoken for, Ferrari is expected to make a few additional units of their latest hybrid supercar for the XX programme.
