Mercedes-Benz S-Class facelift India launche date revealed: Mercedes-Benz has announced that it will launch the new S-Class facelift luxury sedan in India on February 26, 2018.

German automaker Mercedes-Benz recently showcased its flagship offering, the S-Class facelift in India. Now, the company has announced that the facelifted S-Class luxury sedan will be launched in the country on February 26, 2018. The Mercedes-Benz S-Class facelift will be the first made-in-India BS-VI compliant vehicle.

Powering the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class facelift is a 3-litre in-line, six-cylinder diesel engine churning out 286bhp and 600Nm of torque. The new engine comes in as a replacement for the 3-litre V6 engine producing 258bhp and 620Nm of torque. Mercedes-Benz states that the new engine will run on BS-IV fuel until the BS-VI fuel becomes available across the country.

The Indian government has fixed a deadline of April 2020 to implement the BS-VI emission norms, and the BS-VI fuel will be made available from April 2018 in the national capital Delhi. After that the BS-VI compliant fuel will be rolled out across the country.

Talking about the car itself, the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class facelift features subtle changes to the exterior design. The sedan gets newly designed headlamp, tweaked front grille, new tail lamp cluster and revamped front and rear bumper. The overall design of the luxury sedan remains the same as the outgoing model.

The interior of the S-Class facelift gets a new 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, leather trim with wooden inserts, ambient lighting and fragrance spray to keep the cabin fresh. Other features such as ventilated seats with body massager, electrically operated seats, seat heating and cooling and four-zone climate control remain the same.

The new Mercedes-Benz S 350d facelift will be the first BS-VI compliant vehicle and the third BS-IV compliant car from the stable of the German automaker. Mercedes-Benz also launched the Maybach S650 and Maybach S560 at the Auto Expo 2018. Now, the company is all set to introduce the S-Class facelift in the country.
