TaMo Set To Build Volkswagen Cars — Is This The Future Of Tata Motors?
Volkswagen will use TaMo’s new AMP platform to build cars as per their partnership deal, and here’s more.
A few days ago, we reported that Tata motors and Volkswagen are in advanced talks about their partnership, and details will be revealed soon. Now, reports suggest that Tata Motors will be building Volkswagen cars and will be exported.
The Volkswagen cars will be built on TaMo's new Advanced Modular Platform (AMP), and will be exported to Asean markets. Tata Motors will have the capacity to make Volkswagen cars, in spite of manufacturing their own.
The partnership is a win-win situation for both carmakers, and for Tata Motors, it will be a great opportunity for alternate source of revenue. Also, Volkswagen will pay royalty to Tata motors.
This partnership will come as a huge relief to Volkswagen as well, since the German carmaker is struggling when it comes to sales in emerging markets. The structure of the partnership, however, has not been finalised yet, and the announcement could be made at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show.
When spoken about the upcoming Geneva motor Show, Mercedes will unveil theMaybach G 650 Landaulet, pictured in the image gallery below.
