Volkswagen Announces Plans To Introduce Five New All-Electric Cars
Volkswagen announces the development of five new all-electric cars based on the I.D Concept displayed at the 2016 Paris Motor Show.
Norway made headlines last year when its government announced the decision to ban internal combustion engine powered cars by 2025. This is just one country which has announced its plans to go the electric way, and looking at the way things are going in the automotive industry, looks like many countries would also be making such announcements in the years to come.
The electric car industry is growing at a rapid pace, and almost all mainstream manufacturers are announcing the development or the launch of a new electric car. The latest of such announcements is one made by Volkswagen.
The German brand looks all set to shift its attention to electric cars, as they have revealed plans to roll out as many as five battery-powered cars in the years to come. All of these cars would be based on the I.D concept VW had displayed at the Paris Motor Show in 2016.
One of them would the I.D concept itself, which is equipped with a 125kW electric motor and is likely to have a range of 400-600 kilometres despite being able to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in less than 8 seconds.
Next in line is the I.D Cross, which was first previewed at the Shanghai motor show this year. It is powered by two electric motors with a combined power output of 225kW, and the 83kWh battery gives it a range of around 500 kilometres.
Next in line are two vehicles which have been announced but not revealed. They are the I.D AEROe sedan and the I.D Lounge Crossover. Details of these two vehicles have not been announced yet.
Volkswagen also has the I.D Buzz concept lined up next, which will again be powered by dual electric motors, but this time with a combined power output of 275kW, taking the car from 0-100 km/h in less than 5 seconds.

it

the
