Volkswagen Tiguan launched in India. Prices for the Volkswagen Tiguan in India start at Rs 27.68 lakh ex-showroom (Mumbai).
The second-generation Tiguan is based on Volkswagen's MQB platform and the German carmaker is offering the SUV in India in diesel guise only.
Volkswagen Tiguan Variants
The Volkswagen Tiguan for India ditches the entry-level Trendline trim which is offered abroad and is available only in two trim levels in India - Comfortline and Highline. The top-spec Highline trim adds a few extra features including self-sealing tyres and a panoramic sunroof.

Volkswagen Tiguan Specifications & Mileage
The 2017 Volkswagen Tiguan in India comes with a single engine option as standard. The 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine produces 141bhp and 340Nm of torque which is mated to a 7-speed automatic DSG gearbox. The power and torque are sent to all four wheels through the German carmaker's 4Motion four-wheel-drive system.
The Tiguan accelerates from 0-100km/h in 9.3 seconds and has a top speed of 200km/h. The Tiguan SUV returns a mileage of 17.06km/l.
The Tiguan for India comes in 5-seater guise only unlike the larger Tiguan AllSpace unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show, earlier in the year. The Tiguan is 4,486mm long, 1,839mm wide, 1,643mm tall, and has 2,681mm long wheelbase.
The second-gen Tiguan is 60mm longer, 30mm wider and 33mm lower than its predecessor and its wheelbase is up by 77mm
2017 Volkswagen Design And Features
The Volkswagen Tiguan features an aggressive front end with a triple slat grille flanked by LED headlamps with LED Daytime Running Lights. At the side, the pumped up wheel arches play host to a set of 17-inch alloy wheels which are shod with self-sealing tyres.
At the rear, the Tiguan sports a roof-mounted spoiler that sits atop the steeply raked rear window. The taillights are LED units as well and the tailgate can be closed at the touch of a button.
Inside, the Tiguan comes packed with features including a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other features include electronically adjustable front seats, automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof and ambient lighting.
The Tiguan comes with a 5-Star safety rating from Euro NCAP and features 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, Hill Descent Control, Hill Hold, park distance control, and reversing cameras.
The Tiguan is offered in 4 different colour options in India: Tungsten Silver, Atlantic Blue, Indium Grey and Deep Black with all variants sporting Black Vienna leather upholstery.
