You Can Soon Buy Electric Vehicles For The Price Of A Conventional Car — Volkswagen
Volkswagen will price its electric vehicles similar to its conventional cars to meet a huge target. Read on.
German carmaker Volkswagen is set to launch a fleet of electric vehicles, and the company will price them similar to conventional vehicles. This is a step towards making electric cars mainstream, says Volkswagen.
Christian Senger, Volkswagen's Electric Car Project Head said the company had taken significant steps to reduce the cost of electric vehicles, during the Shanghai Auto Show.
Speaking to Car Advice, Senger said, "Offering our electric cars for prices similar to combustion engine vehicles is a game changer. We're using the need to step from traditional combustion engine cars to reinvent the Volkswagen brand."
Volkswagen is aiming to sell three million electric cars annually by the year 2025, and one of the best ways to achieve that target is by keeping the cost of vehicles low. Since last year, Volkswagen has showcased three all-electric vehicle concepts that will hit the production lines soon.
