Video: Volkswagen Ameo, Polo And Skoda Rapid To Get 16-Inch PORTAGO Wheels
A video surfaced on the internet, revealing a convoy of test cars, including two Ameos, a Polo and a Skoda Rapid with 16-inch alloys.
Volkswagen India might soon add 16-inch wheels to its select models including VW Polo, Ameo, Vento and the Skoda Rapid. The cars have been spotted with this updated aesthetic feature on Indian roads.
A video surfaced on the internet, revealing a convoy of test cars, including two Ameos, a Polo and a Skoda Rapid. All the cars are reported to be riding on the new 16-inch PORTAGO alloy wheels.
The new alloys employed on the Ameo and the Polo seems to be identical but the Rapid's alloy design is different. The current versions of these cars feature 15-inch alloys.
The new PORTAGO wheels will only be offered with the top-end variants of each model. The vehicles which are spotted were not camouflaged so the update could be only limited to alloys or we can expect some minor interior tweaking.
The VW Vento will get a top-of-the-line variant soon, which features full LED headlamps. The test mule of the top variant has been spotted testing several times but the manufacturer is yet to announce the official launch.
The Vento lineup was recently updated by Volkswagen with the new 1.5-litre TDI engine. The new oil burner is shared with both the Ameo and the new Skoda Rapid.
The diesel motor produces 108 bhp of power and 250Nm of torque. The transmission duties are carried out by a five-speed manual and a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission.
