Upcoming Tata Cars In India In 2017 — A Model For Each Segment!
Tata Motors will launch the AMT version of the Tiago hatchback, also, launch a new model Tigor under the subcompact sedan segment and the much awaited Tata Nexon subcompact SUV.
Tata Motors is on the overdrive with its new IMPACT design philosophy; it has tremendously increased the brand value of the company. It all started when the company launched the Tiago hatchback in India -- the hatchback was packaged well with features and most of all, the pricing was competitive.
With the backing of the successful design philosophy, will Tata Motors' upcoming cars in India in 2017 create a niche for itself? Let us find out.
Here are the upcoming Tata cars in India in 2017:
Tata Tiago AMT
The Tata Tiago is a well-packaged hatchback with lavish interiors, features and capable petrol and diesel engines. Now, what would make the Tiago, even more, better? Equip the Tiago with the current trend of Automatic Manual Gearbox (AMT).
Tata Motors' AMT gearbox developed by Italy's automotive parts maker, Magneti Marelli. The gearbox does its duty on the popular Tata Nano and the Zest diesel variant and will make its way to the Tiago as well. The AMT will be a 5-speed gearbox which sends the power to the front wheels of the Tiago.
The Tiago is driven either by a 1.05-litre, three-cylinder diesel engine developing 67bhp or a 1.2-litre petrol engine producing 84bhp.

The Tigor, based on the Tiago will carry forward most of the features from the hatchback. The Tigor will look to add some excitement in the subcompact sedan segment with its fresh approach to styling.
As for the powertrains, the Tata Tigor will come with either the 1.2-litre Revotron petrol unit churning out 84bhp or the 1.05-litre Revotorq diesel engine developing 67bhp. The gearbox duties are expected to be either the 5-speed manual or the AMT gearbox.

Tata Nexon
Arguably the most awaited subcompact SUV in the Indian automotive market is the Tata Nexon. The excitement levels rose when Tata Motors showcased the concept Nexon at the 2014 Auto Expo held in Delhi.
The Nexon's main attraction came in the form of a 'floating infotainment' system seen in some of the luxury vehicles such as Audi and Mercedes-Benz. Along with Tata Motors affordable pricing and the added benefits of features of Harman music system with JBL speakers, the Nexon might pose a serious challenge to Maruti Brezza and Ford EcoSport.
Tata Motors might power the Nexon with a new 1.5-litre diesel unit which can produce a healthy 108bhp and 260Nm of torque. As for the petrol unit, the Nexon could come equipped with the 1.2-litre Revotron unit which develops 84bhp. The Nexon's diesel or the petrol unit will come paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
