Toyota and Suzuki have joined hands to introduce electric vehicles in the Indian market.
The Government of India has an ambitious plan to shift to electric vehicles by 2030. In line with the initiative, Toyota and Suzuki have joined hands to introduce electric vehicles in the country.
Toyota and Suzuki have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to create a joint strategy to launch electric vehicles in the Indian market by 2020.
The newly signed MoU is based on the agreement to form a partnership in India which was signed in February 2017. The MoU states that Suzuki will manufacture electric vehicles and Toyota will provide technical support.
Both Toyota and Suzuki will also conduct a detailed study for the acceptance and use of electric vehicles in India. The study includes concerns about setting up charging stations and human resource for after-sales service of EVs.
