Toyota Achieves 10 Million Hybrid Vehicle Sales Across The Globe
Japanese automaker Toyota has stated that the company has sold over 10 million hybrid vehicles across the world.
The future of the automobile industry is said to be the cars running on cleaner and greener fuels. As several automakers are focusing on the development of hybrid and electric vehicles.
To boost this statement, Japanese automaker Toyota has revealed that the company has sold over 10 million hybrid vehicles in the global market. Toyota was the pioneer company to come up with a modern hybrid car.
Back in 1995 Toyota showcased the Prius hybrid concept and after two years the car went on sale. The car was a successful product for Toyota in the global market.
In the past 20 years, Toyota has offered 34 models of hybrid vehicles in 90 countries. The recently achieved 10 million sales figure is a massive boost for the company to further develop eco-friendly vehicles.
Chairman of the Board of Directors at Toyota, Takeshi Uchiyamada said, "When we launched Prius, no one even knew what a hybrid was. Today, thanks to those early adopters who gave Prius a chance, hybrids have grown in popularity."
Managing Director, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, Akito Tachibana said, "This is a phenomenal achievement for Toyota globally as we firmly believe that environment-friendly vehicles can only truly have a significant positive impact if they are widely used."
Although, Toyota is not alone in the development of cleaner and affordable driving technology. Several other automobile manufacturers are also striving hard towards the development of hybrid vehicles.
