Toyota Fortuner Prices Drop After GST
Toyota has passed on the benefits of GST to customers, and the Fortuner SUV receives a price cut to the extent of Rs. 2.68 lakhs.
Toyota India has implemented the Goods and Service Tax (GST) on its vehicles and has passed on the benefits to customers. The Fortuner SUV benefited with the new taxation system and received a price cut of up to Rs 2.68 lakh.
Under the GST regulations, SUVs attracts 43 percent and the Toyota Fortuner which used to attract 50 percent tax is now cheaper.
Taxes based on GST for SUVs over 4 meters in length and having engines smaller than 1500cc will remain at 43 percent. However, SUVs with engine capacity above 1500cc receives a reduction in taxes from the previous 50 percent.

Powering the Toyota Fortuner is a 2.8-litre diesel unit developing 175bhp and 450Nm of torque and comes paired to a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The manual models come with the same engine specifications except that it produces 30Nm torque lower than the automatic version.
There is also the 2.7-litre petrol mill which produces 164bhp and 245Nm of torque coupled to a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
