Spy Pics: Toyota Corolla Altis Facelift Spotted Ahead Of Its Launch
The 2017 Corolla Altis will be available in four trims in both manual and automatic version, namely, J, G, GL, and VL.
Toyota Kirloskar India will launch the facelifted Corolla Altis in the country today. The sedan is expected to receive cosmetic updates and convenience features. The manufacturer has also updated its official page with the new model, but the bookings are yet to commence officially.
Before the launch, a new set of images of the Corolla Altis Facelift has been shared online by GaadiWaadi. The updates on the exterior and the interior was clearly visible from the given images. The sedan was revealed last year in Thailand, and the design is based on Toyota's new ‘Under Priority and Keen Look' design language.
The 2017 Corolla Altis will be available in four trims in both manual and automatic version, namely, J, G, GL, and VL. The Corolla is one of the most iconic models in Toyota's history, and the company has sold more 44 million units across the world.
In terms of design, the model will feature LED headlamps, LED fog lamps, restyled front grille and a 16 or 17-inch alloy wheels based on the variant. At the rear, the sedan sports LED tail lights and improved suspension set up.
Powering the model will be the same 1.8-litre petrol engine that produces 138bhp of power and 1.4-litre diesel motor that cranks out 84bhp. The petrol engine option will get a 6-speed manual transmission and a 7-speed CVT-i automatic gearbox, while the diesel version will be paired to a 6-speed manual.
Inside, the model will feature Smart Entry with Push Start.Stop, 8 Way Power Driver Seat with Lumbar Support, Rear Reading Lamp & Rear Sunshade, cruise control, rear power socket, rain sensing wiper and steering controls. The infotainment system now is a 7-inch touchscreen with integrated Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
When it comes to safety, the new Corolla Altis will get dual SRS airbags, ABS (Anti-lock braking system) with EBD, brake assist, vehicle stability control and rear camera with a display.
The 2017 Corolla Altis is expected to be priced at Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, the premium sedan will compete against the likes of Hyundai Elantra, Chevrolet Cruze and Skoda Octavia in the same segment.
