The Photos We Have Been Waiting For — 2017 Honda City Facelift
Here are the photos of the new 2017 Honda City which is going to be launched in India soon.
The 2017 Honda City has been spotted several times while testing and also during a TVC shoot. The images of the sedan have surfaced on the internet without any camouflage and it looks more premium than the outgoing model.
The new images posted on Facebook reveals the styling changes to the front and rear fascia of the sedan. The model is scheduled to launch in Thailand today and we can expect to hit the Indian shores in the second quarter of 2017.
The new facelift model's front design seems to be inspired from its elder sibling, Honda Civic. The model now gets a new chrome grille that runs into the LED headlamps with DRLs and re-styled front bumper with incorporated fog lamps and air intake.
The model also features 16-inch alloy wheels and a re-styled rear bumper with blacked-out portions. The tailgate also gets a chrome accent and an integrated rear spoiler with LED stop light.
Inside, the City facelift will sport leather seat upholstery and 6.8-inch sophisticated infotainment system which Honda co-developed with Blaupunkt. On the safety side, the model gets six airbags on the top-of-the-line model. Anti-lock Braking System will be a standard fitment across all variants along with dual airbags.
The 2017 City is expected to draw power from the same engine options, a 1.5-litre petrol and diesel motor. The petrol motor produces 117bhp and 145Nm of torque, while the diesel option delivers 99bhp and 200Nm.
The petrol powerplants will be mated to a 5-speed manual and a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission), while diesel variants will only get a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The global model will be launched officially today and when it is launched in our market, it will take on other sedans in the segment such as Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Skoda Rapid, Hyundai Verna and Volkswagen India.
