Tesla Model 3 Major Specs Revealed — Just How Quick Is It?
Major details about Tesla's upcoming Model 3 have been revealed in a leaked comparison chart with the larger Model S.
The Tesla Model 3 is one of the most awaited cars in the market. With production set to start in July, the ones at the start of the almost 400,000 prospective owner queue are now a few months away from getting their hands on the car.
Now, details about the Model 3 have been revealed in a leaked comparison chart with Model S by Inside EVs. The chart compares the existing Model S with the Model 3 and will be used by Tesla salesmen.
The chart reveals key details about the new Model 3 including the all-important range of the EV and the 0-60mph (96.5km/h) time.
The chart claims that the Model 3 will sprint to 60mph from standstill in 5.6 seconds, which is quite a lot slower than the top-spec Model S. The range is estimated to be over 215 miles (346 kilometres).
The details revealed by leaked comparison chart also include the boot space (396-litres) which is quite similar to cars in its segments like the BMW 3 Series and the Mercedes C-Class. The comparison chart also reveals that there is enough space inside the car for five adults.
The Model 3 will have less than 100 different configurable forms which compared to the Model S, with over 1,500 different configurations, is quite low. The leaked chart also confirms the single display which will act as the infotainment unit as well as give relevant information regarding speed and range.
The features on the Model 3 don't seem like much when compared to the Model S, which is exactly the point of the comparison chart which will help the customers differentiate between the two Tesla sedans and help the electric carmaker stave off the expected cannibalization of Model S sales by the Model 3.
